A cappella

a group exhibition by Fanny Adriana Dunning, Maria Esteves, Nolan Lucidi and Julie/Julot Wuhrmann and the participation of Mathilde Dam Hansen

Kunst

On November 17, the group exhibition A cappella, with Fanny Adriana Dunning, Julie / Julot Wuhrmann, Nolan Lucidi, Maria Esteves, and the participation of Mathilde Dam Hansen, came to an end after almost two months at the EAC (les halles).

First of all, we'd like to express our deep gratitude for your invaluable support. This project was also made possible thanks to you, the CAN, Circuit and the EAC (les halles).

Reappropriating aspects of art history through narratives and images, often tinged with a delicate irony, the exhibition revolved around fictional or potential queer stories, rooted in archives and current social issues.

A cappella, which means “without instrumental accompaniment”, is a title we chose together. It symbolizes the resilience of the marginal queer stories that inspired us - stories shared even without support, told in isolation and hidden spaces, but reaching us through vocal power alone. We hoped our artworks would embody a similar energy, amplifying each other's voices and creating a collective song that would resonate with visitors.
