Archives of a Denying Heart unfolded as a nine-day exhibition exploring fragmented, disorienting, and ephemeral experiences within diasporic life. Staying aligned with the original concept, the project drew from queerness theory to critique the archival ideal of coherence and completeness. Instead, the exhibition embraced rupture, multiplicity, and porous memory — acknowledging lived experiences that resist tidy narratives. Across 16 works by three artists, the exhibition combined installation, sculpture, video, print, photography, and performance. The spatial layout encouraged non-linear movement and interpretation, mirroring the logic of fragmented archives. A foreword in the exhibition handout condensed the team’s months of conversation, offering visitors an entry point into the shared conceptual foundation.
