is a video work by multimedia artist Lea, in which she digitally stages herself within one of her paintings. Drawing on ideas from philosopher Hannah Arendt, the work reflects on the significance of labor in relation to the female body, capitalism, and the phenomenon of hyper-individualism. She explores these topics through fragmented, absurd scenes. Arendt’s distinctions between labor, work, and action are subversively woven into the material. Lea’s exploration of the female body as a “faulty machine” highlights the ambivalence of the “uterus body”. Caught between the illusion of the divine birth machine and the reality of the female body as a “social disadvantage”. In her work, the fragmentation of the body reflects the absurdity of patriarchal perspectives.
