Gaudi Suite

Suite Gaudí is a project composed and directed by the Catalan trumpet player and composer Cesc Badia, inspired by the work of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí.
After studying in depth the work of what is probably the most influential artist of Catalan Modernism at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century, Cesc Badia has taken both architectural and artistic concepts and innovations from the architect and translated them into musical composition ideas that have inspired him in writing the piece. The result is a vibrant suite written for a 17-piece Big Band, featuring musicians all originally from or currently based in Switzerland, where modern jazz and Catalan and Iberian folk music merge to create new sonorities.
