hole, an introduction

A hole is a space that contains. A hole is not, however, a place, a locality. A hole is the idea of absence. It can be filled, it can be emptied. It is a receptacle. Once it is full, it flows over, pouring out onto the surface. Once it is empty, it lies dormant, waiting to be activated. A hole is transformable and, in fact, its very existence requires transformation. "holes, an introduction" is a lecture-performance based on the idea of the hole as an emancipatory and liberatory space. The performers present their idea and theories of the hole, while simultaneously creating it.
